Brewery 304 - Intermittent Exhibition
Exhibition Planner and LiaisonBrewery 304 _ Seoul _ South Korea2018In collaboration with Moving Art Gallery, SquareMMKM planned and curated a week long exhibition of 31 artists and teams to run a paid entry multi-disciplinary art and culture exhibition.
The exhibition was planned as an intermittent use for an old motel in the middle of Seoul’s downtown which was waiting for permit to get a major renovation to turn the motel into a brewery.
The team of SquareMMKM persuaded the owner to use the waiting time not as a wasted time but instead let artists bring new life and energy to this unassuming alley while the place was closed and empty waiting for refurbishment works to start. This event had dual purpose: inform the existing residents about the new neighborhood brewery and also bringing a completely new crowd who has never been to this area of Seoul before.
The catalyst for the event was various forms of art and performing arts to inspire the visitors.
The “pop up gallery” turned out to be a great success for the neighborhood as well as for Brewery 304 and for the 31 artists who managed an amazing exposure.
