2018_Feasibility Study and Concept

Spaces in which we recover from illness have an impact on our healing process and our well-being, this is why hospitals in an urban context must find a way to bring calmness to the patients.

When designing this hospital proposal our intention was to immerse people in a Mediterranean garden experience. We based the design on 4 main ideas; luminosity, vegetation, spaciousness and patio/ courtyard.

The presence of landscaped courtyards along the hospital provide spaces that inspire calmness and tranquility to patients, staff and visitors. Those are sometimes accessible allowing people to enjoy outdoor space and recharge themselves. We believe It is important to create such atmosphere where people have to wait, rest or interact among each other. The vegetation chosen for the landscape is all native with the intention to immense the patients into an idyllic Mediterranean ambiance allowing the body and mind recover simultaneously.
