Associacio Be Soabout
Since 2013, SquareMMKM has pursued a vision of engaging and empowering communities through community-focused, project-led initiatives. In 2025, this ongoing effort to bring new life and energy to local neighborhoods takes another step forward through Associacio Be So, a non-profit association registered in Spain (Registration Number: 76887). Our members come from a wide range of disciplines, fostering transdisciplinary collaboration through socially engaged cultural and community projects.
The association is dedicated to promoting social well-being, understood as the health, fulfillment, and quality of relationships individuals experience within society. Its mission is to foster meaningful participation, human connection, and a positive collective mindset.
To achieve this, the association creates and supports spaces, programs, and initiatives that encourage interaction, collaboration, and community engagement. It brings together multidisciplinary teams, institutions, and citizens to co-develop projects ranging from cultural and educational activities to research, exhibitions, and workshops.
Working in partnership with public bodies, NGOs, cultural institutions, and educational organizations, the association advances inclusive and integrative practices that enhance individual and collective well-being. It also supports cultural preservation, celebrating heritage, diversity, and creativity as essential tools for connection, expression, and healing.
Operating on a non-profit basis, the association reinvests all its resources into fulfilling its mission, maintaining full financial autonomy to sustainably support its activities and impact.

select projects
The Associacio Be So builds upon the long-standing practice of SquareMMKM, which since 2013 has initiated and collaborated on diverse community-based projects connecting art, activism, and local participation. These include initiatives such as Xyard, Yongsan Legacy, and La Merce de Picasso.
Associacio Be So believes in collaborative engagements. Our interventions, exhibitions, and collaborative programs are developed with artists, activists, academics, and cultural collectives such as Moving Art Center, Moran Museum, Royal Asiatic Society.
As we search for meaningful platforms for social well-being, we see public spaces as vital spaces for dialogue. Through the transformation of public space, we aim to initiate conversations and create new and unexpected urban experiences. Ultimately, we believe that layers of shared urban memory can foster stronger bonds, a deeper sense of belonging, and more connected communities. list of Collaborators and sponsors
Our projects would not be possible without the support and collaboration of partners, sponsors, artists, activists, and local communities. We believe meaningful initiatives grow through shared ideas, mutual challenges, and collective responsibility. Through collaboration, we seek to create socially impactful projects that foster dialogue, experimentation, and stronger communities.
