As football popularity started to grow in Gabon the number of injuries caused by practicing the sport started to rise and so the need for specialized medical centers in the country.

People that will be coming to the center have been injured and so their life has been interrupted having to stay away from the sports field for a while. This has an emotional impact which makes them be worried, stressed, scared, … A positive attitude is very important for the healing of an injury. Our body and our mind cannot be separated. For our body to heal our mind must also be healthy, optimistic.

For the physiotherapy and rehabilitation center we use internal landscaped courtyards so patients not only will see vegetation outside but also will be surrounded by nature inside the building. This also helps maximizing natural light, feeling of openness, interior visual connectivity as well as proving outdoor intimate gardens where to take a break or where to step of different textures, very important during the recovery time of an injury. The shape of the courtyards are inspired on body geometries (organic) to soften with the rigidity of the rectangular building. Each courtyard has a different landscape design bringing different feelings, smells, colors,… that are all inspired in local landscapes from Gabon.
